Group 1 holds pairings that a single source states: one article that prints both names, or one official text published in English and in Chinese, where the two names sit in the same sentence or the same list slot; or, since 14 October 2026, the game’s own screens in English and Chinese. Group 2 holds pairings we made ourselves. Each row says “likely” or “weak” and gives the basis: same romanisation, literal translation, matching description, or derived from another pairing. No source gives both names for any row in group 2. Group 3 holds names that exist in one language only so far. Where a row covers the earlier games rather than this one, it says so.
The same states appear as seals on the other pages: white characters cut into solid red for group 1, red characters inside a red border for a likely match of ours or a Chinese name only the press reports, and no seal where there is no Chinese name or only a weak candidate. For the earlier games’ cast and factions, see the Rainblood story so far; for this game’s characters, see characters and factions.
One source gives both names in each row. “Both versions” means the English and the Chinese version of the same official text, read on 11 October 2026. Since 14 October 2026 the group also holds 16 pairings from the game’s own screens: the same item panel or name plate in the English and the Chinese build of the 2025 demo, the English build as recorded by the official channel and the Chinese build in players’ recordings on Bilibili (we cite those and never show their frames). A name seen in a demo may change in the launch build.

English name, 14 Oct 2026. Game Rant’s preview of 8 Oct 2026 names a boss “Jagged Steel, the Frenzied Brute”, a soldier with a gigantic serrated sword whose own bleed weapon the writer was awarded. We match it to Chinese name, not yet confirmed: 痴狂暴徒残钢 by meaning: the two parts of the Chinese name mean roughly “frenzied brute” and “jagged steel”, and gcores says that boss drops a weapon that builds a bleed gauge. The pairing is ours; no source gives both names.

Chinese name, 14 Oct 2026. The game’s own text in English and Chinese counts as one official source on this site, so the Chinese name is marked official. A name seen in a demo may change in the launch build.
The Chinese panel: 痴愚狂妄的暴徒爱不释手的大刃。这自正道处劫 [continues beyond the panel] (“the great blade a foolish, frenzied brute will not put down; seized from the righteous…”; our translation). Bilibili BV1228tzSEyp, 9:27. The English panel of the August 2026 build says “stolen from Allied Justice”: see Allied Justice.
Also printed as. “Jagged Blade” in CGMagazine and “Jagged Edge” in IGN’s 2025 preview. The game’s own menus, in the 2025 demo and the August 2026 build, print “Jagged Steel”.
Status of this information, 14 Oct 2026. Official: the game’s own menus in English and Chinese give both names (see above). The August 2026 menu labels Jagged Steel “One-Handed” (State of Play, 8:23), which is where a fan list on Gamersky files the Chinese name too; so the English and the Chinese name belong to one one-handed bleed weapon. IGN’s “enormous greatsword” is a writer’s description.
Before 14 Oct. Weak match: gcores describes a weapon 残钢刃 that builds a bleed gauge and is won from the boss 痴狂暴徒残钢; a fan list on Gamersky files 残钢刃 among one-handed blades, while IGN calls the English weapon an enormous greatsword.

The game’s own text in English and Chinese counts as one official source on this site, so the Chinese name is marked official. A name seen in a demo may change in the launch build. This replaces 荡寇横刀, the Chinese name we showed before: gcores’s report on the 2024 closed-door demo names a weapon 荡寇横刀, won from the boss Commander Cleave, whose blade turns red after three perfect parries; it may be the 2024 name of the same weapon, which no source states.

Status of this information, 14 Oct 2026. Official: the game’s own menus in English and Chinese give both names (see above). The English name is on the game’s own screens: the 2025 demo’s equipment screen (3:28) and the August 2026 character menu (8:24). The Chinese recording is published December 2025 and its build date is not confirmed, but its cards match the 2025 demo in layout and text.
Before 14 Oct. The English name was then known to us only from fan wikis (Fextralife); a fan list on Gamersky has a bow called 羽弓 in the demos.
Sources for the name Unconfirmed Fextralife, a fan wiki. Chinese candidate before 14 Oct (then a weak match) from a fan list on Gamersky.
The panel’s last paragraph, left out of the entry: “Long Range Shot: Once obtained, NIGHT OWL can shoot specific hanging objects from mid to long range. It does not need to be equipped.” It repeats the Night Owl text word for word, apparently placeholder text in this build.

In the earlier games, a fan compilation describes an illusionist of The Order called 虚空.

Chinese name, 14 Oct 2026. The English menu of the 2025 S-Party demo names it “Nightwatch” (2025 S-Party demo walkthrough, Phantom Blade Zero on YouTube, 3:28.1), and the same item text in the Chinese menu names it 羽弓客 (a player’s recording on Bilibili, BV1HkqYBWEmR, 5:20; offline demo, Chinese menu, published 16 Dec 2025; build date not confirmed). | Old English term | New English term | Chinese | Level of the new term |

| ParaWulin | the Discordance | 里武林 | Official, both names |
| Dark Castle of Mo | Bastion of Mó | 暗魔天堡 | Official, both names |
“Wills”, “Hands” and “Instruments” are older words for The Order’s ranks and have no new term. “Mu Tianmiao”, the older English for the patriarch of The Order, is also his English name in the launch game’s text.
Some names differ only in spelling between outlets. “Ghostep” and “Ghoststep”, “Jagged Steel”, “Jagged Blade” and “Jagged Edge”, and “Pang Town”, “Pangzhen” and “Pengcheng” are variants of the same name, not changes in the game’s terms. They are listed in the rows above. Since 14 October 2026 the game’s own screens settle two of them: the menus print “Jagged Steel” and the State of Play title card “PANGZHEN”.
Every row in group 2 is waiting for the game’s own text. The plan is to switch the game between English and Chinese and check each name in both languages. When the game confirms a row, it moves to group 1; when the game contradicts one, the row is corrected and the change is noted. On 14 October 2026, sixteen rows moved to group 1 on the 2025 demo’s own screens; they will be checked again in the launch build.
Release is set for 29 October 2026, which is 28 October in the US. We give no date for any update beyond that.
