Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 November 2026. This policy covers kungfupunk.com (“Kungfupunk”, “we”).

What we collect

Kungfupunk has no user accounts, no sign-up form and no comments. The site does not ask you for personal information.

Analytics and advertising

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are visited, where visits come from, and how our pages perform, so we can improve the site. Kungfupunk is free to read and carries advertising to pay for itself. Our advertising partner is Google AdSense. Every page loads Google’s ad script from pagead2.googlesyndication.com, which sends Google information such as the page address, your IP address and your browser details. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to show ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites, and to measure them. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their consent before ads are shown. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services; you can turn off personalised ads in Google’s Ads Settings.

Cloudflare automatically adds a measurement script to our pages. It reports information such as the page URL, referring page, browser and operating system, and page-load and performance measurements to Cloudflare. We have enabled the option that excludes visitors from the European Union: Cloudflare does not inject this analytics script for those visitors.

Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as cookie-free and says it does not track individual users across websites. Read Cloudflare's Web Analytics documentation and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details about its service and data handling.

We also use Google Analytics to count visits and to see how the interactive maps and the save checker are used: which tab is opened, which share button is pressed, whether a save could be read (and if not, why), and the difficulty and death count of a save you load. Your save file itself is never sent anywhere. Google Analytics receives information such as the page address, referring page, your IP address and browser details, and sets cookies to tell visits apart. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it sets no cookies unless you agree through the same Google consent message used for ads. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) so we can see where a page is hard to read or use. Clarity receives the page address, your browser details and your IP address, and sets cookies to tell visits apart. Read the Microsoft privacy statement.

The site runs its own scripts in your browser (three script files and a few small scripts inside the pages). They count down to the unlock time and show it in your time zone, highlight the section you are reading in the page contents, open and close the contents list on small screens, show the home page’s opening card, run the gallery viewer, and show preview cards for bosses, weapons and characters, which load a small index file from this site. Apart from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, described above,, our own scripts send nothing; they only fetch files from this site. Fonts and images come from this site; videos are links to YouTube and load nothing until you follow them. The exception is the four frame-by-frame breakdown pages and the boss fight pages: they show a YouTube player only after you press play. The player is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, and from then on YouTube’s own terms and cookies apply. Before you press play, those pages make no request to YouTube.

Cookies and storage

Our own pages set no cookies; Google’s ad and analytics scripts may, as described above. The home page shows an opening card at most once a day until the unlock, and not on a day you arrived from a search engine; after the unlock it opens only when you press “Watch the opening”. To remember this, our scripts save only dates in your browser’s local storage, under the names “kfp-opening” (the day the card was shown) and “kfp-search” (the day you arrived at any page of this site from a search engine); if you press “Mark as beaten” on a boss page, the list of bosses you marked is saved the same way under “kfp.beaten”, the trophies you tick on the trophies page under “kfp.trophies”, and on the maps and the save checker what your save shows as found, your own ticks and your share settings under names starting with “kfp.map”, and nothing else. It stays on your device and is never sent to us; clearing the site’s data in your browser removes it.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Request logs are switched on for the site's hosting, so Cloudflare keeps records of requests such as the page asked for, the time and the browser type, under its own privacy policy. We use those records only to find faults and check that pages load.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
