How to beat this fight
- From this fight on, bosses use what Chinese players and press call black-light attacks; the game itself never uses that name. Blocking one empties your Sha-Chi at once, so dodge, do not block. Two openings: he charges straight at you, or he turns his back and slams the ground.
- Dodge the wide sweep. After he stamps, the next flash is blue: parry it. He has more than one blue attack.
- Get out of the slam that comes down behind you. If it lands, it empties your Sha-Chi.
- Early on, bring Jagged Steel and the Sanguine Twin. Use the twin blades to answer him and cut his gauge; once his guard breaks, switch to Jagged Steel and stack the bleed.
- Beating him gives the Dread Axe as a Phantom Edge. The axe also cuts the chains that block the path back at the outpost.

Launch-build boss dossier (29 October 2026)
“Eldest of the Four Axes, Peng Meng underwent Transcension to avenge the other three. His body grew massive, his flesh hardened, and his strength became immense. His great axe could split stone and sunder mountains. Several Mandate elites fell beneath it. In the valley, a Mandate squad subdued him only at terrible cost. Thick chains were driven through his shoulder blades, binding him behind the Outpost. Once, the four brothers drank deep and feasted heartily. They performed deeds of chivalry, yet their axes also claimed countless innocent lives amid the Wulin's bloodshed. In those days, every debt was still settled by the Wulin's rules. Then three brothers were murdered through treachery, and Mandate squads hunted the last. Cornered and desperate, Peng Meng surrendered his final shred of reason and sank utterly into Transcension.”
