- When he leaps and lands on his back, dodge, then hit him while he is down, even if he is not guard-broken.
- Sand across the screen means a red attack: dodge. Also dodge when he pushes the hammer along the ground.
- He drops the Bashpole Phantom Edge, which opens new ground.

How to counter 4
- Learn the timing and parry most of his swings; each parry takes a large chunk of his Sha-Chi.
- Do not get caught in the dirt cloud: that is when he grabs you.
- Once he is breached, press the attack (the writer used the fast Soft Snake Sword)
- In the walkthrough the player fights him up close, slashing at his belly. As played in the 2025 demo walkthrough, 8:05.

“Wan Jun, a massive hammer wielder guarding the Mandate Encampment, bears scars across his body from Perfect Transcension. His Bashpole can shatter stone and shake the ground with every blow. Feared for his strength and mocked for being slow-witted, Wan Jun found companionship only in the pigeons that perched on his arms. Huangxing scolded him for wasting such strength on birds and taught him Perfect Transcension, promising it would sharpen his mind and make him a warrior admired across the Wulin. No one had ever expected so much of Wan Jun before. From then on, he followed Huangxing without question. Even as Sha-Chi clouded his mind, he remained at the Encampment gate, carrying out his orders. The Encampment now lies in ruins, but the pigeons still linger beside him. When Soul finally defeats him, one thought flashes through his fading mind: Huangxing’s promise that Perfect Transcension came without cost was a lie.”
