Bi Taotao
Bi Taotao is the head of the Baishan Sect, who took over a broken sect and led its disciples to fight the Maskwalkers under the Pillars of Kunlun. When word came that Huangxing was pushing Perfect Transcension she rushed to the Mandate Encampment to demand an explanation, and never came back. Her disciples are looking for her from Chapter 2 to Chapter 5.

Who is Bi Taotao?
The Baishan Sect was once one of the great sects of the Wulin, until Dugu Linghe used Transcension to slaughter her way through Baishan at a succession ceremony. With the sect on the brink, Bi Taotao took up the mantle of sect leader. She cast aside her timidity, vowed to weather every storm for the sect and restore it, and led its disciples to join the forces under the Pillars of Kunlun against the Maskwalkers.
She fought for it in letters too: a reply in Weeping Creek Valley shows her asking Gu Lingran for help and being politely turned down. When the Mandate’s forces split over Perfect Transcension, she went to the Mandate Encampment herself to find out what was happening to its leaders.
In Chapter 2 a dying Baishan disciple in the Crimson Forest tells Soul her story, and Soul remembers crossing paths with her long ago. Her trail ends in the Mandate Encampment in Chapter 5.

When she heard Huangxing was pushing Perfect Transcension she rushed to the camp overnight to demand an explanation, and walked into a trap that closed from both sides. She believed he still honoured the rules of the righteous path, and that giving way would protect her disciples. It saved nothing.
Soul Displacement
Her memories were drawn out one by one and what was left of her forced into a puppet. The game never names who did it, but Soul Displacement is the Thread-Binding Sect’s art, and the Herald is the one using it in this story.

Secrets of the Baishan Sect
Her disciples’ quest. Two Baishan disciples in the Crimson Forest send you to their wounded Junior Sister Meng, and her dying words send you to the Mandate Encampment to find their missing sect leader. Wu Lengshuang is there at the end of the mountain path, beside her master.
How this quest turns out
At the end of the path is Bi Taotao’s body, her mind displaced: she has been made into Yubi, No. 21 Swordfighter Puppet, one of the Four Great Puppets. Find and defeat the puppet to finish the quest and earn The Last of Baishan.
What happens to Bi Taotao
The end of the story for this character
Bi Taotao’s mind was put into a Vessel-class Swordfighter Puppet, Yubi, No. 21, which still bears her face and carries her pair of Stormswords. She remembers almost nothing; the wreckage on the training ground makes her sad, and she quickly forgets why. When Soul tells the puppet who she is, she remembers the Baishan Sect and grieves for it.
Looking at her body, Soul finds resolve and serenity frozen forever on Bi Taotao’s face. In the final battle she appears as a vision: she could not protect the Baishan Sect, she says, but the righteous path is not bound to just one sect.
