Who is Blizzard Blademaster?
For years he ranged the northern Wulin, proud and quick to settle scores, cutting down evil and heterodox foes with his beloved blade, Whiteshadow. Then his son went missing. The High Elder’s disciples, he says, filled the boy’s head with lies and led him off to a hidden enclave of forbidden Phantom Arts.
He searched for three years without rest, chasing every child who looked like his, until every trail led to one snowbound mountain where it should not snow at all. He knew the blizzard was unnatural, the Sha-Chi left at Soulrend Cliff by people a bell had driven to slaughter one another. To the High Elder’s side he is simply the intruder.
You meet him in Chapter 7, beyond Meigu Lake, in the Phantom Illusionist Ruins. His son was called Xiao Feng, and was twelve when he vanished.

Killed his son, caged him
Years ago the High Elder took in a boy of great potential, not knowing he was the intruder’s son. When the father broke through seal after seal, the High Elder let him kill disciple after disciple until madness took him, then bound him with several arts and made him the guardian of Puppet No. 99.
“In the end, I sealed it within that arrogant intruder. It is perfectly safe now.”

Blizzard Blademaster
Deep in the Phantom Illusionist Ruins, a white-clad bladesman stands amid wind and snow, a divine weapon in hand. Clad in light northern armor and robes whiter than snow, half his face is already ruined, cast into shadow by the High Elder’s sinister plot.
He cuts, splitting stone and cleaving clouds. Swift as a wraith, his every strike carries formidable force; his long blade tears through the air, leaving frost in its wake. After years in the northern Wulin, he had rarely met an equal. Proud by nature, he lived by his own code of vengeance, wielding Whiteshadow to cut down countless evil and heterodox foes.
In search of his missing son, he traveled south alone. After three years, he reached the Frozen Lands, only to discover that his son had already died there.
Grief and fury consumed him. He swore to destroy every enemy, unaware that his frenzied slaughter had already led him into the High Elder’s trap. Bound by several arts, he was reduced to a puppet guarding Puppet No. 99.
The endless wind and snow wear down what remains of his body, while his son’s death tortures his heart without end. Fortunately, he has found someone he can entrust this to, someone who can slay the monsters in his stead and avenge his son’s death.
What happens to Blizzard Blademaster
The end of the story for this character
He saw through the false Xiao Feng and walked into the trap anyway, because every other lead had run out. When he found his son’s frozen remains he swore to cut down every last one of them, and that frenzy is what the High Elder was waiting for. Leng Tu’s puppetry and Perfect Transcension bound him, and the High Elder sealed Puppet No. 99 inside his body, where not even gods could break free.
The endless snow wears down his body and his son’s death tears at him without end. But he has finally found someone he can trust to slay the monsters in his stead and avenge his son, and Soul beats him at Whiteshadow’s Fall. Near the end he appears once more, as a vision: “You’ve got skill. Don’t die here.”
