Who is Sect Leader Ming?
In Weeping Creek Valley, in Chapter 1, he is a name on papers. Gu Lingran writes to “the Honorable Sect Leader Ming”, and a reply signed by the Master of Sun Moon Hall tells “Nephew Gu” to handle the matter of the Four Axes and uphold the dignity of the righteous path. Peng Meng, eldest of the Four Axes, has a very different view of him.
On Meigu Lake, in Chapter 7, you see him at last, in memories. A subordinate, Li Zimao, writes to invite him to a new song house on the lake that nobles and Wulin heroes alike are praising, and in the Memory Flowers on the water he is the patron who comes to every performance of the zither player Yan’er.
