Phantom Blade Zero · Forbidden Ruins & Mysteries
All 4 Acolyte Masks & Mute’s Tongue
Three purple-icon Mysteries required for the True Ending—Secrets at the Heart of the Lake, The Crimson Manor and The Herald’s Illusion—all pass through the scarecrow in Weeping Creek Valley and the four Acolyte Masks.

Mute’s Tongue, The Crimson Manor and both Crystal Eyeballs (Yin & Yang)
Slot the Acolyte Masks into the archway doors around Puppet No. 66 in the Forbidden Ruins to get the Mute’s Tongue (middle door) and Crystal Eyeball [Yin] (right door), use the Mute’s Tongue at the bottom of the Valley Sha-Chi Tower lift to open The Crimson Manor for Crystal Eyeball [Yang], and place both eyeballs into Puppet No. 99 at the Heart of the Lake.
- Open the Heart of the Lake (Puppet No. 99). In Chapter 3 (Village of Lu), collect all 6 Firefly Memory Flowers to clear the poison mist at the Broken Puppet Pit Entrance bell, jump down to defeat Dusk, the Puppeteer (who drops the Puppeteer’s Bell), and enter the Heart of the Lake to find eyeless Puppet No. 99 (Secrets at the Heart of the Lake).
- Open the Forbidden Ruins archway doors. Return to the scarecrow at the Outpost Courtyard bell in Weeping Creek Valley and place the Acolyte Masks into the archway doors around Puppet No. 66. The right door yields Crystal Eyeball [Yin]; the middle door yields the Mute’s Tongue.
- Unlock The Crimson Manor for Crystal Eyeball [Yang]. Ride the Valley Sha-Chi Tower elevator in Weeping Creek Valley to the bottom floor and use the Mute’s Tongue to open the locked red door (The Crimson Manor). Solve the blood-pool statue rotation puzzle and defeat Master Bi Hai of Kuye Temple at the Crimson Manor Back Garden bell to obtain Crystal Eyeball [Yang].
- Awaken Puppet No. 99 before Mirage Estate. Bring both Crystal Eyeball [Yin] and Crystal Eyeball [Yang] back to Puppet No. 99 at the Heart of the Lake to obtain Heartrend Pipa and clear all three purple-icon Mysteries before the Mirage Estate True Ending cutoff.
